| no partners | | | Great ride with Nick, Jane, and Doug (Bagel Bunch) at White Tank Mountain Regional Park. Started from the Nature Center and followed Mule Deer to Ford Canyon, Ironwood, Gray Fox, Comp Loop, back to Gray Fox, Ironwood, Ford Canyon north to Waddell, south on Mesquite, back on Ford Canyon and Mule Deer, short diversion on Bajada to Old Stable, and the back on Mule Deer to the Nature Center. There was a wedding going on in the small amphitheater behind the Nature Center when we returned. We gently escorted our bikes around the perimeter after waiting for the bride and groom to enter. We also encountered two horse back riders on the Comp Loop. We pushed our bikes past the horses after the riders got them under control. Saw a bunch of hikers throughout the park and surprisingly few bike riders for a beautiful Sunday morning. An 18 inch garter snake zipped across the trail between myself and the lead rider. We could still see remanents of the Surprise landfill fire northeast of the park. Really, really windy today. |
