This is a short hike that could be done in about an hour if you're pressed for time. When I arrived, I parked in the dirt area off to the side just in case other cars needed to drive through here. There were mining roads in this area but they could not be driven on as there were several primitive rock and brush barriers on the road every 100 feet or so. These barriers had a gap that could be walked through. Foot traffic was welcome here but no motorized vehicles. There was a fence line to the West of the road with a sign that said something to the effect of "Contaminated area. Keep out.". I can only imagine what happened here. I believe this was an old mining area.

When I got closer to the hill, I took a branch of the road that curved West and the same fence line curved also. The road continued Southwest, but I found a branch of the road that headed South and up the hill. I took this road and it headed up to some old mining areas and curved around to the South side of the hill and eventually to the East side. I found a lot of copper rock in this area. There was another road that branched up from here getting very close to the top. The road ended but there was a use trail heading up to a channel which basically got me all the way to the summit. At the summit, there was a rock pile and a cross that fell over. I didn't see a registry here and didn't have a jar this time to leave.

Looking South I could see Casino del Sol and Black Mtn on the San Xavier reservation. Looking North I could see the "contaminated site" that was fenced in.

On the way down I took some other mining roads on the East and Northeast side of the peak. I met up again with the main road and took that North to where I parked.
