| no partners | | I did this peak in conjunction with Peaks 2887 and 2741. There aren't any trails going all the way to these peaks, but there are trails that will get you fairly close. From where I parked, I would recommend taking the unmarked trail about 0.3 miles North and slightly West which will run into the Explorer trail, which I don't believe is marked by any signs in this area. The Explorer trail follows a power line and can be taken either West or East. Take the Explorer trail East for 0.2 miles and you will intersect another unmarked trail which generally runs East and West, although there are some twists and turns. Take this trail right to get closer to peak 2885, or take this trail left to get closer to peak 2887. See my GPS route for where I entered and exited these trails to do the off trail hikes to these high points. The brush was not thick in most places and it was easy to weave to get to these high points.

From Tucson (North/Central), take I-10 E toward I-19 S
Use the right lane to take exit 260 for I-19 S toward Nogales, continue for 0.4 mi
Continue onto I-19 S. for 0.8 mi
Take exit 99 for Ajo Way W, continue for 0.4 mi
Merge onto AZ-86 W, continue West for 5 min (2.8 mi)
Destination will be on the right.
There will be a semi-hidden road and parking area on the North side of Ajo Way.
