| partners | | At least the weather was nice! ;) We learned the Apache Maid Trail is 13 miles one way and you need to hike 2 miles on the Bell trail to get to it. We short cut down the side of the mountain on the return trip to cut off a few miles. The trail was not all that difficult to follow due to huge cairns and several posts but you did have to watch for them. The trail is rocky in sections and a road (really) in others. All in all the trail isn't that exciting with a few sunflowers and many junipers lining the way. The uphill grade wasn't too steep so we made decent time but the distance did take a toll. The quad riders looked like they were having more fun than us but we'll be feeling the satisfaction from this one for a few more days.  |
