| partners | | | It started out cold at 5:12am but was nice and cool 30 minutes later. Early morning clouds and canyon walls kept us shaded most of the way to Ribbon Falls. It made a quick trip to Ribbon Falls and kicked in the turbo to catch up with Stiller. I avoided an invisible snake? and started the trek back to Cottonwood campground. It was a bit warm heading back but much better than the valley. We stopped to eat in the shade at Cottonwood campground, filled up with water and started the climb. I found this hike up much easier than South Kaibab and even found occasional shaded corners with a breeze to rest and cool down when needed. The trail volunteer had a lot of work telling all the would be hikers with one small bottle of water not to go beyond the Supai tunnel etc. |
