The views along this section of the AZT are very good, better than I expected. the last couple miles to the south before you get to Telegraph Pass Rd. are really pretty nice. Saw 3 other hikers on my way back. Took a lunch break at the road (halfway point of the hike) and talked to a guy from Mesa 4Wheelers who drove by looking for his friends. The first 15 minutes of the hike were cold enough for me to put on my hoodie. After that, it warmed up and the weather was perfect, upper 80's, clear skies, gorgeous weather. Saw a bit of what appeared to be a deer leg on the trail, and also saw one saguaro that had fruit forming from what appeared to be very recent blossoms. very odd to see that.
