| partners | | Ahh,another chance to get out on the Arizona Trail.Joe,Bruce and I set up the Shuttle and started hiking about 7:30.Dave will be making this one up at a later date. We started off with some great light on the mountain tops. With some directions from Grasshopper we checked out the Artesian Well(pretty cool) and were on our way to the start of #17.We have already been over these four miles. We seemed to see the same cattle and Kestrel we saw last week. Watch your step in this area. There seems to be a lot of loose cactus in this area and it's hard not to pick up a few strays. The views on this passage are great. The trail was in good shape, We met a cowboy out looking for cows.We talked to a few mtn. bikers that were cutting catsclaw to have a somewhat clear path on the way back down.We also talked to a couple riding horses that had us talk so the horses would know we were human and not mountain lions or something. The horses were also wearing some kind of hiking shoes that were pretty cool. All in all a nice passage. Thanks to Joe and Bruce for making this another great trip.See Ya on the next! |
