| partners | | A week after #16 we believe we saw the same Kestrel falcon on the same Saguaro and perhaps heard another. It's a very distinctive sound. Either they are common in this area or perhaps stick to a zone. Interesting... we have walked through their home twice whereas their prey probably doesn't stand a chance.
Portions of the mid to upper segment is what I envisioned the Arizona Trail to be like before I had the opportunity to get on trail. Beautiful, peaceful, rolling desert. On our hike the weather was story book. When the jokes came to a rare halt the silence of the desert intrigued. Pondering the beauty made me happy to be alive. As my mind would drift in glee, gentle warm breezes wisped my ears. Only in Arizona for this is January baby!
