Never been to San Tan before so we thought we'd try it out. We took the Moonlight Trail to the San Tan Trail south for about a 4 mile round trip. Virtually flat the entire way. Nice hike for out-of-shapers like us. Not a whole lot in the way of visuals, especially this time of year, but the San Tan escarpments in the southern part of the park provide an interesting and stark backdrop to the horizon. Perhaps it's noteworthy that San Tan Mountain itself isn't even in the park but sits just outside on private property.

The small visitor center has a Gila Monster and a Mojave Rattlesnake among a few other critters.
