| partners | | This was on my "wish list", so I had to make it happen. It started with bribing Denny and Wally with Steak,Corn-on-the-Cob, and baked potatoes on our Mt. Baldy trip. They said they'd do it, but I think they both had their fingers crossed. A few others were interested but couldn't come and Joe was a last minute addition. I'm glad Berk made this one... he's got a great attitude on life and I always enjoy hiking with him.
On Tuesday, I thought this hike would be cancelled. I injured my knee and it was really tight. Several PM's later..some concerning black ice,snow,fog,etc,..it was a go or so I thought. By Thursday I was committed, but it wasn't until late Friday that everyone was committed. Berk met me at my house at 930pm and we were off to Joe's to meet the others crazy enought to join us. We left about 10pm and we were hiking in the dark in Palm Springs at 145am, 15 minutes ahead of schedule. AA,BB,38, FF... picnic tables...we passed 2 hikers...break...break...cold...sweating...sweating and cold...smelliness..round valley...top of the peak...tram ride...taxi ride...Quizno's...beer at home and  .
If Chris had made this hike, he probably would have said "That was kind of a difficult hike". I won't bore you with details of the 6 different ecosystems we went thru, but it was pretty awesome. Thanks to Wally,Denny aka Turbo Turtle,Joe, and Berk for making this a great adventure. Man there's a lot of photo radar in AZ  .
