In the area after work so I did a short run in the White Tanks. Did the long and then the short Black Rock Loop. Not much to say about the trail. They have added additional parking for this trail...just to the north. Kind of odd since this isn’t really much of a trail. In my mind it is simply additional parking for the Waterfall trail which can be accessed from the Black Rock Long Loop trail. Had the trail to myself with the exception of a chipmunk.

Went out with familia for quick post-Thanksgiving hike.

If you're looking for a place to sit down, waterfall trail is your kinda hike...

We counted THIRTY THREE benches between the trailhead and the waterfall.

Belated post. I did this short run after work. I did the bigger loop and then the smaller loop....a loop de loop, if you will. Very flat, smooth trails, ideal for running. The loops have several info stations, though to be honest I did not check them out this time, so I have no idea what kind if condition they are in. This was a long drive for a relatively quick pay out. Didn't see anyone on the trails, but I did see a gopher snake on the trail. Surprised at that since it was late afternoon, we were in the shade, and temps were probably in the low 60's.

2nd of 3 mini dayhikes with non hiking friend.

Started from waterfall TH headed out to Black Rock loop including a figure 8 of some sort to complete the entirety of the Black Rock Short Loop. Ended where we started.

Saw many petroglyphs I'd never noticed on previous trips with family along the Black Rock Loops. Beautiful day.

1st trip
Took the pups on a nice Monday morning hike. My intended route was to hike Goat Camp and take Mesquite Loop back. 12+miles. With it raining I wasnt sure if we would make it. We hiked 2.9 miles on the Goat Camp before we turned around. As we gained elevation, the rain was getting worse with very strong winds. I noticed my smaller dog wasn't enjoying herself so we turned around. My bigger dog seamed to be unaffected and was fine. Once we lost the elevation the winds stopped and the rain wasn't so bad. The smaller dog was enjoying herself once again. While taking a 30 minute break in the truck, I started looking for some small trails to do. I decided to take Black Rock Long loop to Waterfall trail to the waterfall. Even with it raining all morning, there was very little water coming down the fall. I wasnt expecting much, but I thought there would be more. I stayed at the falls for 20 minutes talking with another hiker. I then hiked back to the trail head and did the Black Rock Short loop. I then drove to the Bajada trailhead. I hiked the Bajada trail to the end and back. Nice easy hike even with the rain.

Did the Black Rock Short and Long Loop and also the short extension that takes you to Waterfall Trail. Both trails are easy, in fact I would consider the short loop handicap accessible. Did these trails with my wife and 1 of my dogs and it seemed that everyone we met had a dog as well. And we met quite a few people! It's good to see people out and using the trails. Weather was extremely windly!

Did the short and long loop with my wife. As you can see even with the long loop, it doesn't add up to much. However, this was my first time on the trail and it was nice to have a relaxing walk with my wife on a new trail.

1st trip
I was planning a trip to the White Tanks today, so set a goal to get tracks on the remaining areas for Joe's map. Started at the Mesquite Trail head, up to the Ford Canyon Trail, north a bit to the Willow Canyon trail, then East on Willow Canyon. I also made a stop at the Willow Spring for a bite to eat. I suggest anyone who hikes up this way stops and checks it out. (Sorry no pictures, my camera was just dead weight today in the pack.) This appears to be where the old ranch was. There are some foundations remaining, bedsprings, water troughs, etc. Back to the trail head, in the truck for my next chore. Stopped at the Black Rock Loops and got those tracks. Next I drove to the Visitor Center for the Bajada Trailhead. Walked it out to the Goat Camp trail, then over to the South Trail backwards to the Trail head. A little road walking, and I was back to the Truck. That should do it for all the requested remaining trails out there. Have at it with your map magic now!
