| no partners | | PT is kicking me off the sidewalks and asphalt. Even though the knee/leg is only about 60%, my therapist feels that trail walking would be more beneficial and not as detrimental. Told me to pick something easy and this was the first to pop into my head and it's so close. He asked me how much distance I thought I might be able to do on more uneven terrain and I conservatively answered 1 mile. Zero confidence these days, but after a long layoff, ready to try to get this done and hoping for no complications this time. Unfortunately, hope does not spring eternal on this and with amping up the work, the shin/ankle is still a problem, but not to the extreme extent as before. Ready to push through it and see if I can come out on the other side. I haven't hiked in 14 months and it sucks. So it's time to suck it up and do whatever I need to, to get back doing what I live for. Leg was pretty tired when I hit the truck, but that's what we are going for. According to my therapist, fatiguing the crap out of it is a good thing. On the bright side, it took more than a mile to achieve that. Time was downright embarrassing, but first time out, stiff in the morning, I took my sweet time. And yes, of course, the camera got dusted off. Photo skills are pretty rusty too apparently. |
