Hit the trail before sunup and found frost everywhere. My daughter got carsick coming up Guanella pass so she had a rough start. Kept a slow but steady pace with my wife who was on her 1st 14er attempt along with my daughter. We had acclimated in Boulder for almost a week. Eventually made it to the ridge and started up the boulder section. After a while, we made the summit and enjoyed the view for a while before heading back down. No altitude sickness for any of us and a first 14er for my wife and daughter.

Hiked Mt Democrat, Mt Cameron and Mt Lincoln as a loop. Took the Bross bypass and went down that way, incredibly loose and steep descent but doable. Frost on the rocks heading up made it a little slick, but mild winds made for a good day.

We put in at Saguaro Lake Ranch for this float to see the upper 1 mile of river. They charge $5 to launch and $10 to launch and park. Not much different than a Tonto pass to park at Water Users so cost is not factor, especially since you get to see the part of the river that's right up against some large cliffs. Not a half mile in, we had to dodge waves from a sheriff's fan boat like you'd see in the swamps. Guess they're out on the holiday weekend checking on everyone. After the one larger riffle, had to stop and dump the 3-4" of water out of the boat that came over the bow. Flow was 1150 cfs this morning and made for a fun ride. Saw the wild horses down around one of the tubing takeouts. Floated all the way down to Granite Reef takeout and headed home.

Hiked this trail on the way to Boulder. Spectacular lake and Spouting rock waterfall is pretty amazing too since you can walk behind it. Seemed like lots of water compared to some photos I've seen.

Started up at Saguaro Lake Ranch for this float. They charge a small fee but we got to see the upper one mile which was really pretty. Water just turned on Monday and there weren't many people out today, just a couple groups of kayakers. I'm guessing the flotilla of tubers hit the water later since we saw a lot of buses while picking up our shuttle car. Didn't see the horses on the river, maybe next time. Nice float close to town. We got off the river at Phon D Sutton so we wouldn't have to paddle the last mile or so into the wind.

Did the Marcus Landslide trail including the loop at the end. Fascinating history of what happened and very cool that it was only recently discovered by a couple college students. Went on down Boulder trail to Pemberton and looped back via Rock Knob for a total of 6.5 miles. Nice loop with broad views.

Decided to take advantage of the cool weather and drove up to Scottsdale to go to the Lookout. Nice and cool and about 60F heading up and breezy. We were pleasantly surprised by the amount of flowers still hanging around. Mostly cactus, but a fair number of other small flowers here and there. There's been a lot of maintenance on the trail lately and it's in really good shape. Had a snack at the Lookout and scouted out the trails below (Windgate pass mainly) and headed back down.

Mostly prickly pear but a decent variety of other typical flowers, just not very many overall.

Went up the Cave trail and looped back on the Peralta trail with my wife today. Fair amount of flowers but no high concentrations anywhere.

Did this loop counterclockwise with my son for Spring Break. Surprised how few campsites there are - went all the way to Windsor saddle before stopping, made for a pretty long first day. Dropped to 30F but warmed quickly when the sun came up. Disappointed to see fire had taken the trees out at Windsor saddle and much of the rest of the loop, but at least it's green again, just not pine or juniper yet. Only saw one person the first day and 3 the second, nice break.

Early morning hike with my wife. Nice and cool starting out, still some snow on the backside of the front range above.

Started right at daybreak at Carney springs, cruised up and across the ridge, out onto Flat Iron and back down. Perfect weather for a hike with my son. All dry this time.

Did this right after the storm cleared out, cool, clear and wet out. Most of the little creeks had a bit of flowing water, was very nice. Did the loop clockwise for our first time on this trail with the family.

Broke my hand in a deer/mountain bike collision in early September so have been doing more hiking. This tied together a couple areas that I ride regularly.

Did this with my son and friend, started in the dark and ended close to sunset. Was a great hike, loved the part along the narrow ridge. Did it from east to west. Had been wanting to do this for a long time, finally did it.

Hiked this with family during spring break. Got to see a couple airplanes land when we were aligned with the end of the runway, pretty cool. Overall, great views all the way around the loop.

Did this trail yesterday with my son in between my daughters synchronized swimming events in Scottsdale. We were actually on mountain bikes and did the entire trail end to end and back. Lots of poppies and lupine around the valley north of Squaw Peak and some brittlebush starting to bloom various locations.
