All joking aside I still did get a little cold a couple times especially in the shadows on the back side but I'm not complaining. Again, I love the views on the upper canyon and was really noticing this time that the trail looked like it was well traveled. However, I have never seen anyone else up there. Always great to hike with Kat and it was great to hike with Bob again and meet Wally. Kat was gracious to share her yummy cookies, thanks Kat! (we were all patient and didn't ask her when she was going to open that pack up as we had suspicions they were in there).
Yes, Bob had a scale with him to share the precise weight of the 37 lb. rock that he sent tumbling down the mountain. If he was wondering why I just didn't seem to concerned it was because after getting stuck in an elevator last week and having it drop down a few floors twice and the light fixtures bust out of the ceiling and the installation fall all over me watching the rock come down was nothing.
Thanks to Wally for showing us the Peralta rock. I was really glad to see it, well really look at it, as I had walked by it a dozen times not realizing the carving was on it.
The Supes are amazing and I love to hike out there and get to know the trails and learn new things about the Superstitions. I am going to have to read a few more books to get to know the history better. Oh, wait, I will just hike with Wally again!! |
