In all my years in AZ i never got to go to the KOFAs and what an amazing place this was. This is the perfect time of the year to explore this remote and waterless place. Palm Canyon was one of the coolest little oasis' i have ever had the chance to see.

Made my way down to Sedona from Flagstaff after taking a day off in between after an exhausting Grand Canyon backpack trip. Didnt really know what to hike and ended up doing Soldier Pass, a trail i had never hiked in all of my years in Arizona and seen some cool pics of the cave at the end of this trail. On this day i took my time taking photos and enjoying the landscape i hadnt seen in over three years since i left. All in all a great day to explore.

First time back to Arizona since I left to travel the world alittle over 3 years ago. What a great trip this was. We got rain, and some hail going down on New Hance on day one. Perfect sunny day on day two on the Escalante trail and a nice and cool day on day three on our hike out on Tanner.

Day hiked down to the Colorado River confluence. Tuesday morning hiking down and past Beaver falls was a breeze, did not see anyone on trail until i hit up a group of rafters hiking up to Beaver. Was surprised at how easy to follow the trail was on the GCNP area, views of the river along the way were outstanding the entire way. Once i reached the confluence some hot New Zealander rafter shared one of their Tecates with me. Great times.

Second time down to Havasupai. Had a friend from Russia visiting the US and this place was in her bucket list.
Started our hike in monday morning at 6AM. Made our way at a decent pace and reached the campground in about 5:15 hrs/mins. Walked all the way to the Mooney falls end of the camp area and for sure found the best and most isolated campsites in the area. The next day we set off for the Confluence, day three was a lazy day, day four we hiked out. Great place during the week when theres not very many people.

The second 14er to climb this weekend. This was my friends' objective, which i sucked it up and did it....well almost.
The plan was to see the sunrise from Wilson Peak. We climbed past Gladstone Peak, reached a saddle just before sunrise. Most of the way to the top is trail with a couple class III and IV sections.
My stomach wasn't feeling so great and with my main goal already having been completed i decided to stay back with our friend Mara and enjoy the sunrise together while we kept an eye on Joe making his way to the summit. We waited for him to get back then the 3 of us hiked back down together, broke down camp and hiked back to the TH and back to PHX.

By far the most sketchy climbing ive ever done. So many loose boulders stacked on top of one another. Route finding skills and fearlessness are a must for this climb. Mostly a class III climb with a couple class IV traverses including the crux just below the summit. One of the hardest of all Fourteeners in Colorado to climb was my first of all of them. We (Joe and I) as tradition dictates is to bring a celebratory summit beer but being that we still had to get over the most dangerous part (the decent) we didnt drink our IPAs until we were safely back to the base of the mountain. Glad my mom doesnt really know what im up to most times.

Holiday weekends mean we get to do something special. My first Colorado 14er. Plan was to climb Mount Wilson sunday from our base camp at Navajo Lake and attempt to climb Wilson Peak monday AM with an alpine start.
Navajo lake......beautiful place, serene, crystal clear water and great weather was our weekend. Climbing triplogs coming up.

First time ever at Aravaipa. Left town Saturday AM, made it to the TH at about 10 AM, took our time getting trail ready then started hiking on this pleasant and beautiful canyon. It was warm but not too much, once we got to our camp site we were all lazy and took proper afternoon naps. The following morning we traced our steps back and headed back to town.
