The trail itself is only a couple miles long but connects into an intricate trail system that eventually meets up with the Thumb Butte trail system.

I am not sure how much elevation change. Much of the hike is flat, some areas have some climb but never too strenuous. Great to bring dogs and let them swim.

People say Jerome is higher in elevation then Prescott but I think it is actually about 500 feet lower. The trees are all blooming there already and it is beautiful. The trail itself was lovely, only the occasional patch of snow

Starting to get back into shape and hoping to do some backpacking this year so threw a pack on. No problem going up, but man the extra weight hurts coming back down

Great for exercising dogs, especially if you are just visiting Prescott for the day and need to let the dawgs run for a couple. Also, great view of local mountains and all the way to Mt. Humphrey's.

Very pretty hike. Great if you can't get up to the real Red Woods. Very busy area, I suggest arriving early, and avoiding on the weekends.

Took a quick jaunt up Mt. Hollywood while visiting LA. Have never been to California, from the top could see most of the metropolis, couldn't figure out which "downtown" was LA. Definitely worth it. Griffith Park is beautiful.

Great hike, very private. Some areas still had snow and ice, but mostly clear.

Beautiful day to hike Granite Mountain. It seems to be one of the few peaks in town without icy trails. Broke in a new pack and tried one out on my dog. He didn't seem to notice much but it did help mellow him out some.

Drive to the end of Antelope Ln, cross through the first gate and park at the second. Head up the service road to the water tower. From there, you can either continue up the wash towards the cell towers on top of the mountain. I headed up the left (western slope of the eastern side of the hill). I followed an antelope trail to the top. Beautiful view. There is no official trail. Dogs enjoyed the hike and were able to run all over the mountain. I do not recommend to bring dogs if they are not use to rocky terrain (same for the hike) as it is ankle braking country.

Nice loop in the winter time. Few travelers and no snow. Dogs get to run off leash for most of the loop and even got to swim.

took two days each way and took our time along the way. Beautiful forgotten about trail! Brought our dogs, just be mindful, it is mountain lion country!!! Also, no water until dropped below basin into the Sycamore canyon. Great Hiking in the winter, summer time it is too hot for me and even more dry. Beautiful area, it is like your own private Sedona. It is a bit of a drive in, but the road is not too bad. 4x4 not needed unless the road gets wet, then it would be good thing to have.

Took dogs up for some quick exercise. There is still some snow and ice in patches on the front side so be careful.

I took Upper Pasture trail #38 to Blair's Pass and connected into the main trail up Granite mountain (#261). The hike starts off of Contreras Rd. It is a scarcely used route, but one of my favorites. I am not positive on my distance or elevation, but I think I am probably pretty close. Great trail for dogs.

Always a nice hike. Personally, I think the best view is just before the saddle. Had my dogs with me. There were very few others on the trail so they got to run off leash for a while.

After eating breakfast, we decided to go on a hike. Very poor planning. Only brought one bottle of water because we thought there was still water available at the lookout. There isn't. Was very thirsty by the time we finish but was a lovely hike. Beautiful view of Flagstaff and surrounding area from the top. Definitely recommend if you are in the Flagstaff area. It is mostly switch backs so be ready!

I hiked into Hell's gate a few years back and have been wanting to go back for some cliff jumping. The place is trashed. There is poo and litter everywhere!
