Mexican poppies and lupine were a great treat as I began to climb. Being that I get a little fearful of heights and being alone, I decided to stop at the saddle. I relaxed and enjoyed the great views while I sat appreciating all around me.

We had to hop over a few boulders to cross over Cave Creek. A lot of sticky mud because of the rain the night before. Beautiful views. You could easily pass the ruins if you didn't know they were there. Started the hike at 11:30 and finished at 3 p.m. Passed a few folks an the way back and we thought we started late! Wildflowers are creeping from the earth already. All in all a beautiful day and hike.
