This route bears the name of Léon Bourgeois (1851-1925), a French politician. This alley in the Parc du Champ-de-Mars, opened in 1907, has since carried August 10, 1926 the name of "allée Léon-Bourgeois".
Léon Bourgeois was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his longstanding contribution to the cause of peace and justice and his prominent role in the establishment of the League of Nations.
