| partners | | I was very pleased with Joe's pick. This was definately my favorite hike in AZ to date.
We started the hike around 6:15 and although we could have started earlier, the weather was mighty nice. We hiked at a pleasant pace and made small talk while enjoying the high desert sights and smells. We didn't hit sunlight until about two hours into the hike. The ascent up the hill was not difficult, but Joe kept saying, "imagine carrying a 60lb pack up this hill, I would die!"
When we got the top, I wasn't overly impressed as I thought I might be, but once we got to the creek, my senses became overloaded with all that was around me.
The pictures I took really couldn't do any justice to the color, the depth, the beauty or the ambiance of it all. Joe tells me this is a favorite of many in the fall. I can see why.
Joe, thanks for the direction in how to feel my way through a grass covered trail and for the good company. |
