It was a great start to the morning with Joe's message that they were going to be a little late (what else is new?)
So John and I headed up to the trailhead to beat the crew up there. The directions were deadly accurate!

When the crew arrived via the Lexus Nexus, they all looked excited except for Liz who looked like death warmed over. Apparently the MotherLode is a difficult hike?

We began the trek at Jim Lyding speed until the spider webs strewn accross the trail took it's toll. The was the last we ever saw of him.....until lunch.

The rest of the crew did a good job describing the hike, but I'm not as interested in that as I am in the trivial and mundane stuff that happens on a trip.

Did you know that Joe carries pumps on every hike? Little known fact.

When we hit the beginning of the loop, Joe and John littered the side of the trail with full bottles of water with promises to pick it up later.

Also, we found that if you have a straggler in the group, it is best to leave twigs and marks in the dirt to point him/her/it in the right direction.

When we got to the top, it turned out there was a road to the peak and all these 7 and 8 year old kids acted like they had just climbed 3k feet to get up there like we did. Whatever! Joe put them in their place though. I have to applaud you Joe, you really know how to hurt someone without leaving a mark. Bravo!

The way back we talked about how to make the site easier to use. Joe's the best at constructive criticism (see http://hikearizona.com/TL.php?ID=51937)

It did get tiring at the end but the light conversation of ear inplants made the trip fly by!

The Mexican food was great-even with the Joe's choice of 80's music playing in the background!

Thanks for the great time lady and gentlemen!
