I did a side trip to the Ribbon Falls and found a vantage point of where I could see a falls above the main falls. I headed back to the trail. By the Phantom ranch, I went down the Clear Creek trail for a bit. We all meet up at the Phantom Ranch for lunch. Mike and I made it up to Indian Gardens at the same time. The sky was overcast for most of the trip up, so it was a pleasant climb. After a short break, the winds started to blow and it felt like rain. I then hiked to the end of the Plateau Point and back. I started the long and steep climb out. As I got to the 3 mile rest stop, the wind started to blow very hard and the rain drops fell. I put on my rain jacket and headed out. It started to pour and I put on my rain poncho. Then the rain stopped. As I approached the trail head, the rain started up again. I got to the Bright Angel lodge at 5:30pm and ate the best hamburger I've had in ages. |
