Another outing on the AZT and a hike to check off my bucket list. The plans changed a few times but we got them worked out by hike day.I wanted to do this hike by 50 and only had a month to go.Wally and I left my house around 1:00 and meet up with Bruce,Joe and Dave.We left the Valley around 2 and caught the 6:00 shuttle to South Kiabab. We saw a nice herd of Elk with a 6x6 Bull that was impressive while riding the shuttle. The views were awesome going down South Kiabab. The Colorado looked chocolate as it does most of the time.Didn't see very many people :o . The hike up North Kiabab was new for me.Hiking along Bright Angel Creek and the Canyon walls is pretty nice. The boys picked some place called Ribbon Falls for our lunch break. One of our best lunch spots on the AZT yet, or any hike for that matter.Going up the North Rim has some more great views including ROARING Springs. It really helps having a few places to get water so we could pack lite. The guys I get to hike with really help as the cramps snuck up on me the last couple miles. Thanks for the encouragement and patience.Joe Rocks. If I didn't plan this one I might have been uninvited :o .It rained some the last two miles. Thanks to the boys for helpping get a room so we din't have to sleep out in the elements. The hike from the rim to the lodge added a little mileage but the temps and pines made it go ok.We checked in and ate at the Deli then watched the Sunset from the Lodge.A hot shower and a nightcap and we were all in bed early.Great hike, great times, and the company was awesome. Thanks gentlemen, you guys rock!
