Having hiked in the Superstitions several times I was completely unaware the Broadway Cave existed until I saw the description on HAZ. So I decided to trek up there early yesterday morning.

It's a fairly easy, well-marked hike. The only difficult part was going thru the wash near the end of the hike as it's not well-defined, but if you just remember the general direction is "up" you'll have no problems.

The cave is interesting but littered with garbage and graffiti. It also smells like an outhouse. I don't know if that's from bat guano or inconsiderate people. I didn't dare go in the mine as I was alone on this trek. Instead, I took lots of pics of the surrounding suburbs and the mountains in the distance (are those the Catalinas visible through the haze?). Return was quick and I spotted a pair of ravens hiding in the brush on the way back.
