Everyday Picketpost Mountain taunts me from the horizon just beyond my backyard. Today I fought back...

By no means an easy hike. More like a climb. I was on all-fours for most of the way up and on all-fives (butt included) for almost all of the way down. There came a point when I just accepted that my hands were going to get mutilated by rocks, cactus and catclaw. After awhile I just let it happen until I couldn't feel the pain anymore.

But the views from the summit are so worth it. I'm already planning on going back as I'd like to skip the true summit and work my way over to the area that overlooks Superior. I don't think I'm gonna do this hike alone next time though...
