Did this as an evening hike after working in Show Low all day. Started at the trailhead on FR 187, and hauled it up the east side of Blue Ridge Mountain. I arrived on top just in time for sunset, then spent some time looking for the true summit. Found it and its benchmark. Not having a map, I debated on whether or not to hike the rest of the loop in the dark. I chose not to, and headed back to my hotel room for some quality hot tub time. A wise choice, in retrospect. |
