I walked over to the trailhead of the Sardine Trail, and got curious. A half mile down the canyon, I came across maples. Oooh! I was drawn further...
With sunset approaching, I turned around at an open rocky area above the creek. I was quite impressed by this trail. It was much more lush than I had envisioned, with a modest flow in the creek, springs, maple thickets, sycamores, etc. The trail (at least the first 1.75 miles, anyway) was in great shape, and easy to follow. So far, it's the best hike I've come across in the Chase Creek/Granville area. I'd give it a 2 for difficulty and a 1-2 for route finding. |
