During the Indian Wars of the late 1600s, King Philip of the Wampanoag Indians would met here to stage attacks on white settlers. Today, the falls are easy to approach via a signed trailhead off Neilson Rd. south of Lake Mattawa. Then it's an easy ten minute walk into a shady gorge for some solitude in front of the picturesque falls. |
