My mother confided in me that my dad was driving her nuts and she wanted some solitude for a few hours. So I decided to scrap my plans for the Goldfield Ovens Loop and take my father with me on the shorter, but similar, Stewart Mountain Dam Petroglyph hike. He loved it! And really it's hard not to love. It's got everything. River views, lake views, cool tunnels, dams, petroglyphs, hillside hiking, wash hiking, mild elevation changes and aside from the occasional horse tour passing us, it has plenty of solitude. A great trail for beginners and families.
