| no partners | | K and I walked this trail on this cool and windy day and loved it. We had a little trouble finding the trailhead at Dove Mountain's Ritz Carleton (they don't give out maps anymore  ) but once we got going the signage for all the trails in the system there was excellent. (We want to return and walk the Javelina Trail).
The saguaros are blooming, the chollas are blooming, the prickly pears were sparse, spotted one bunny and several lizards. The views along the way and all the desert flora was beautiful and easy walking to boot.
We climbed up the Spur Trail a little ways and when we started down, we made a stop at the stone house off the trail. Pretty cool.
Saw only 2 other hikers.
Can't wait to return in the fall. |
