| no partners | | Kath and I drove to the Camino de Oeste, parked and walked up the trail. Busy with lots of families with small kids today. Some runners and a couple mountain bikers but not as busy as the Phoneline trail. A perfect AZ day with temps around 70. We walked only to the Bowens' Old Stone House and then back. Saw no animals but some scat on the trail. Nothing blooming. A gentle wind kicked up on the return leg. We would like to do this with friends and 2 cars and start up at Gates Pass before the heat arrives. The trail was easy and pretty well marked and loaded with saguaros all along the way. A really beautiful trail through the canyon, albeit a short one for us today. Definitely on our list of trails to take visiting friends. |
