| no partners | | After scouting out a side access route into the impressive "boxed" part of this canyon last weekend, I returned this weekend with a crew of 12 for an Easter Sunday splashdown. The countries of USA, Canada, Italy and England were all represented in this adventurous group. Some were impressed, others not so much, with the stomp through knee high grasses and prickly plants. I guided the line of multi-nationals down to the creeks edge. The boys, age 8-10 were thrilled with the granite playground of waterfalls and natural rock slides. My brother-in-law (the Italian) fell victim to a pair of bee stings. A few other friends seemed less than impressed and weren't fans of the steep 1/4 mile walkout in the midday heat. I made sure everyone was rewarded with a cold bottle of water waiting in my car once we made it back up top. |
