stop two for the day was the water wheel parking area
headed upstream past swimming holes and waterfalls all the way to ellison creek cascades
just guessing on the mileage
this trip had all the best qualities of a water hike - some bouldering, hiking on layers and levels of smooth rock, a couple wades, and several great swimming holes
jumped into ellison creek below the big waterfall and that was cold :o
kelly found a warmer spot back downstream
easy to warm back up on the rock in the sun
not much shade, but plenty of water :)
found the water wheel
probably a couple dozen people, but never felt crowded
would avoid this place on a weekend
some trash, broken glass and abandoned clothing, but nothing like some of the earlier triplogs mentioned
really fun area and a nice afternoon exploring and swimming
great idea, cactuscat!
