| no partners | | I camped at Reef Townsite Saturday night and did the hike from the campground Sunday morning. I was hoping to see some good early monsoon action, but just like the week before in the Chiricahuas, the storms were isolated. It was a pretty warm hike, as last year's fire has created a lot more exposure on the trail. Still, it is a nice hike on good trail with mellow gradient. It has always been one of my favorites because of the wonderful views, as well as the significant display of wildflowers. I usually hike it after the summer rains have been going for awhile, but was pleasantly surprised by the amount of flowers for it still being pretty dry. Started thundering to the west about the time I hit the peak, but it was moving away, so no problem. I was hoping for more cloud cover on the way down, but the sun made for a toasty descent. That only made the beer taste better when I got back to the truck. |

| | Actually a weak flow was coming out of the pipe; perhaps a pint per minute. Tasted real good as usual. | | _____________________
