| no partners | | I wasn't sure this old mining road was intact enough to make the full loop around Scott Mountain, but I figured I might as well try it. If it went through I would have time to climb not only Scott Mountain but Hot Tamale Peak as well. But it worked out so well I threw in a climb of Peak 4470 between the climbs of Scott and Hot Tamale.
The road also brought me past the old Monitor Mine, but you wouldn't know it as there was no old equipment to be seen, at least from the road. From there all it took was a bunch of winding on switchbacks back down to Dripping Springs Road.
The road itself is in decent shape for most stock 4x4's with a little extra clearance. Just a word of warning, be prepared for a healthy dose of Arizona pinstripes. But if you can deal with that, it's well worth the trip.
