Today was a beautiful day. High for the day was only 90, and when we hit the trail at 9am there were clouds and a breeze, felt like it was in the upper 70s. I was hiking with my two boys (8 and 5) this morning, so I chose to make a short loop by connecting Esperero trail with Rattlesnake trail. The boys were not to thrilled the first 0.6 miles as we walked along the road, but once we started on the Esperero trail they perked up and enjoyed the hike. I was pleasantly surprised by this hike. It was just right for the boys. We saw whip tailed lizards, deer, and prairie dogs. Grabbed a Nico's breakfast burrito on the way home....ahh time to relax and digest.
