Couldn't get anyone to hike the Supes with me, so I decided to take one of my labrador retrievers to South Mountain. If you don't mind the din of Phoenix traffic in the background, this is a nice, short trail hike with lots of switchbacks. Total elevation change from parking lot to the top of Goat Hill is 880 feet. Ranger trail hooks up with Bajada (near the start) and National (near the top) so you have some choices if you are looking for a longer hike. According to my GPS, out-and-back to the top of Goat Hill was 3.0 miles.
