Because she was planning to spend the night we started later in the day, and the trail by then was full of friendly people heading in to the pools and back out.
We made our way slowly but surely in to the pools, where we found a small crowd enjoying the afternoon at the larger pools, so we set down and relaxed for a bit right where the trail crosses the creek, enjoying the scenery and the spectacle of water flowing in the desert.
With an event to attend back up in Phoenix I had to get going before I really wanted to, without having had a chance to explore the pools up and down the creek. I left cindyl to set up her camp and enjoy the pools and headed back ASAP. As I neared the trailhead, I caught up with a fellow who had blown out a shoe and field repaired it with some of cindyl's handy dandy duct tape, and was glad to see that the tape had held well enough for him to get out.
I'll have to get back out here another time to explore this area more, what a beautiful place. |
