| I parked right off Vulture Mine Road and my partner and I walked the 4wd road and then followed Syndicate Wash. Shortly thereafter, the HAZ caravan arrived on the road. Chumley led the way and stopped to say hi to me and Denny. Dave asked me if everything was ok at home and made some other comments. Abbey was the other vehicle in the caravan who would later drive me to the lower th after the hike. We declined all offers for rides to the upper th but were thankful to be asked.
The trail picks up elevation pretty quickly and before we knew it we were drinking and eating. Drinking and eating became the theme for this hike. Thanks to Pam for the champagne toasts and strawberries and cookies. Now I know if I every carry a dozen cookies hiking, I should put a piece of bread in the container to help keep them fresh. Its always a great hike when you learn something new.
You can take the man out of Canada but you can't take Canada from the the man. Randal had his Maple leaf chairs(from either La Batts or Molsen). He also grilled hot dogs and some of us garnished them with cheese puffs. It was a most enjoyable tailgate and much appreciated. I did hear an aye or two.
