For my 26th Birthday my boyfriend and I left home early and ran off to Wickenburg! No better way to spend the day I swear it! (Well, anywhere out of the city in AZ is good but that's not the point!)
The point is we set off on a overcast morning for a 4 mile hike to a peak I had yet to visit!
Vulture galore, another beautiful hike in the clouds, when we reached the spot where the 4x4 trail and hiking trail meet the clouds parted, came back together and decide to drizzle some rain on us.
No worries up we went! Up the side of the mountain with our lightweight umbrellas and smiles on our faces.
Those are HUGE raindrops! One of us exclaimed...oh, wait, that be HAIL!
Rain, Hail, hiking into the clouds with numb toes and fingers...what else could happen?
My boyfriend got some very lovely photos of snow on the Saguaros...
No better way to spend a Birthday then in Wickenburg on a cloudy, rainy, Hail-ee (Haley?!), snowy day with your best friend doing the thing you love the most in the desert that you love even more and have always and always will call your home.
After returning to the car we paid a visit to the Hassayampa River Preserve for quite a romantic walk around their short walking trails, and of course we got hailed on when we got to Lyke's Lookout, absolutely WONDERFUL!!!
I wish every birthday could be like this! |
