| partners | | this was not the plan. the plan was to get up early and drive out to the west side of baboquivari peak and hike up that. little did we know that the road to babo was closed due to the sells rodeo parade, not to be reopened until noon. hmm... what to do. open up haz mobile and find another option, of course! kitt peak sounded like a reasonable alternative, although i really HATE jeep roads, and this was a jeep road. however, it is a jeep road like no other. it's nice and even. mr. badbern and his tumamoc hill would like this - it was just like tumamoc in the nice even grade. it was just a little longer. actually, when we were an hour in, it looked like we were closer to the goal than when we were two hours in. but eventually, we made it up to the goal. we saw all of the monumentation up there, i had a bevvy, then we went to visit the telescope and make our way back down. it wasn't babo, but it was an enjoyable plan b. and the views of the coyote mountains totally had me hooked. |
