This was an excellent trip for a very amateur stargazer - overall their evening sessions are about 4 hours long. Includes an introductory educational session, sunset watching, telescope stargazing and binoculor stargazing. Plus, you're up at 7,000'+ with no light pollution for miles. Tough to beat and I highly recommend it. I was guided through the M52 nebula, four of Jupiter's moons (plus a very detailed view of Jupiter), the 7 sisters, and very close ups of moon craters with last week's 3/4 moon. Even with the moon light there was still clear visibility for me. Needless to say I'll be buying some binos this summer.
Even if you're not heading up for the evening, the drive up provides some serious elevation culminating in a very prominent peak that offers views to Lemmon, Mexico, and far far to the east. This would be one helluvah climb! |
