I had worked too many days in a row and just needed a little break. My friends Jane and Luke wanted to do a short dayhike and while I knew they were a little slower than I was used to, it was a good opportunity to get out for a little bit and spend some time with friends. I took the coordinates for the den, which somehow 9L and I had missed a couple of months ago. In retrospect, I'm totally perplexed. It's like a flashing light in the middle of the night! Not sure how you could miss it! Pretty cool, and the history behind it would be interesting. The log book in there is most entertaining reading, as long as you're over 21 and have a sense of humor. :o

Great weather. A lot of people on the lower part of the trail. Only 2-3 people at the thumb, and nobody near the den. All-around fun!
