I wanted to get back out to Pima Canyon, enjoy this trail, summit Mount Kimball again, and it didn't disappoint. There is a lot more water in the canyon than I ever had before, and I was practically hiking with the sound of running water for the entire trip. Things are very moist, but it is still early even if the warm temps make it feel more like April. I can't complain. It's great.

Wild flowers are just beginning, but birds and a few frogs are vociferous. There is some sort of a shrub in the canyon that has flowers on it and smells like orange blossoms. Also, even if some see things as dry, it is very green, with the creosote and ocotillo being covered in green.

This hike is a lot easier when you don't do an off-trail bushwhack to Kimball from Pima Saddle. I really haven't had a hike since late February, so I was going slow and took my time. My feet are soft again and were getting sore fairly early during my descent. So, I stopped to soak them in the cold running water at the upper dam. A little below there and deep in the canyon, some deep pools appear to be perfect for swimming. Probably too cold for it, but it was hot. I exited shortly after sun set and had a great view of Tucson.
