Took the western 4x4 access in and quickly realized it's just as bad as the eastern access. The road is extremely rocky and you have to go snail slow watching out for all the sharp edges. Nevertheless, it's cool being in one of the last dense forest that hasn't burned down in the state.
Not even five minutes out of the truck I get a call that I must be in a meeting at 3pm. *#!?/(%$#@! *#!?/(%$#@! *#!?/(%$#@! *#!?/(%$#@! *#!?/(%$#@! Once I calmed down (which wasted a lot of time) I calculated how much time I had to hike. It came out to a whoppin forty five minutes.
So I tried to make the best of it. Not paying attention I found myself no where near a trail. Due to the lack of time I just headed straight up though dense prickly shrub. Looking back that wasn't "the" best idea.
Didn't get to go where I wanted or any decent pics and probably the worst use of fossil fuel in my life. Oh well, c'est la vie! |
