We parked at the 2nd overlook after Shoshone and headed east along the Rim following "social trails"....to no avail obviously.
But I did see some neat rock formations and possible future adventures to ponder.
I happened upon 3 different areas that could have been sinkholes 30 years ago...I wonder if it still even exists! Is it even ON the rim!? Maybe it's NEAR the rim but further back in the woods???
Seeing as I didn't find it....it looks like I have more homework to do.
On the bright side I DID find the leg bone of an elk.
As the sun started to hide itself behind the trees we decided to jump ship and headed south for the 64 where we hitchhiked back to my Subaru. (A very nice Priest man picked us up)
I think next time we will start from Grandview and work our way west...until then, I'm going to shove my nose in my books and maps and find this thing! |
