After contacting the Cannondale Kid, we joined him in the 'Search for Overlook Arch'. All of us had made multiple efforts to find the arch described in Ted Tenny's "Hiking the Goldfields". Ted had never actually gotten a close up look at the arch, but described it from afar. From his sightings, we established a GPS location and found nothing there as described in his book. Glen took a picture from Panoramic Peak at about the same time Ted recorded in his book. Glen's photo showed what looked like an arch. We concluded that the arch in the book, was two spires that appeared to be an arch when photographed at the right time of day when sun cast shadows on that area.
