| no partners | | SO I wasn't able to hike down Hermit with Chum, 9L and Bootsie this morning because my knee was bugging me...it's such a nice day out I just HAD to do something...so I parked Rock Star and was going to walk a few miles west along the Rim Trail...after about 1/2 Mile I caught sight of the upper tunnel on BA and saw a couple of idiots climbing to the "Window" next to the tunnel... 
So I watched them for a minute and realized they were taking the usual "OMG I fell off the rim" photos....uuuuugh! Idiots...granted we've all done it but seriously people have died right there (or so I've been told) UGH!!
So I turned around, trotted merrily back toward BA TH and trekked down to the upper tunnel at top crazy Hippy speed and told the 3 (25-28 year old American boys) to get off the ledge...they complied...probably because I was wearing my running short-shorts. 
And then I stood there as they headed back up trail and I thought to myself...well NOW WHAT?! I glanced up trail....down trail....eh, Two Mile calls me!
At "The Office" which is the overhang down 'round the corner from 1.5 mile RH I ran into two PSAR (precentive search & rescue) rangers and we stopped and chatted then I scrambled down and up to the Pictographs, then down to two mile, I hopped one foot on the rock at the base of the "Squirrels Kill" sign and trotted back up...
My knee feels great (for now) but I'll probably give it a day off tomorrow
And as I write this a helicopter or plane just flew over my place, it rattled the windows!!! Never heard that before... 
OH! And a nice buzzy bee decided to squeeze between my back and pack and stung me between the shoulder blades...Oddly enough, no reaction! Maybe I'm not allergic anymore!!! |
