We parked the vehicle on top just off FR 616 and bushwhacked down a side canyon. The top part was brushy but eventually it opens up and turns into an ATV track near the bottom where it comes together with Tom's Creek, Pivot Rock Canyon and FR 142.

From there we went up Pivot Rock Canyon. This lower section is wide following an ATV track with intermittent fern meadows, and even some occasional small pools. There were also two cabins.
