| partners | | Ahhh, the quirkiness of people. Thirteen people signed up for a 7AM hike up Humphreys and five of us show and we don't start hiking until 9AM.
Once we got started, this became a top ten hike for me. There was the smells of pine and wet leaves. The glistening snow along the trail showing the way. Just when you would start to get a little warm a crisp refreshing breeze would blow through. We really lucked out with the weather. And everyone we chatted with seemed to be in good spirits.
I had made Karl put the GPS track for the bomber on the GPS. We were going to find it on the way down, if the energy level still existed. We had accumulated some hiking buddies on the trail, and Karl gave them the disclaimer that they were not obligated to follow. They didn't know if they should trust him or not. Then when Karl started climbing up the boulder field you could tell they weren't sure what was going on. We had a lot of laughs and gave them some stories to tell at work the next day!
I wish I hadn't waited so long to mark this hike off the list! |
