Anyway Linda (the owner) gave us some directions to this hike. It climbs into the mountains on the other side of the pikes peak highway. Nice and shady lots of wooden ladders and waterfalls. It seemed like an obstacle course, and was well maintained. I didn't take a GPS and hadn't set my watch so I don't have distance or Aeg. Sarrah opted to take a break near a waterfall and I continued farther up the trail eventually meeting up to the pikes peak highway. On the way down I was hooting and Sarrah was hooting back as I opted to take another route back. Her hoots started sounding odd and frantic so I picked up the pace. When I arrived she was shaking. Evidently, after I left her as I was returning a bear walked slowly out of the creek and passed within 30 feet of her freaking her out. She was kind of spooked the rest of the hike. I have yet to see a bear hiking. 
She hardly hikes and as soon as I'm gone she sees one but has no camera.
